A Navratri Afternoon of Sitar and Tabla in Bentonville

Navratri is a time of celebration, and on October 31st, 2026, Ra-Ve Cultural Foundation invites you to mark it with music. Raga Rhythm and Beyond is a special Navratri performance from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Bentonville Community Center, 1101 Southwest Citizens Circle, Bentonville.
Three artists will share the stage, and each one brings a depth of training and a long performing life; together, they will take you through the Raga and Rhythm that give Hindustani classical music its distinct flavor.
Pt. Partho Sarathy is one of India’s leading sarod virtuosos. He is a senior disciple of Bharat Ratna Pt. Ravi Shankar, and he also trained under his father, Ustad Dhyanesh Khan. Known for the rich, reflective tone of the sarod, he has captivated audiences around the world, and his performance will bring that sound to Bentonville.
Pt. Suben Chatterjee is a celebrated tabla virtuoso and senior disciple of Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri. Trained in the Lucknow Gharana, he blends traditional rhythms with contemporary and global influences. He has performed alongside some of India’s most respected musicians, including Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Pandit Jasraj, Vidushi Girija Devi, Ustad Rashid Khan, and Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt. He founded the world music ensemble Karma, and his work has been recognized with the Sangeet Samman from the West Bengal Government and a Grammy nomination for his live album Artistry.
Vidushi Mita Nag is a sitarist from the Vishnupur Gharana of Bengal, a school of music nearly 300 years old. She is the sixth generation of her family to play the sitar and the daughter and disciple of Pt. Manilal Nag. She made her debut at age ten and has performed across India, the United States, Canada, Japan, and Europe. She also founded the Gokul Nag Memorial Foundation, a trust that promotes Indian classical music in memory of her grandfather.
Navratri, with its nine nights of devotion, is a fitting time to hear music that carries generations of practice. Whether you are a longtime listener or new to Hindustani music, all are welcome here.
Sustain our mission by supporting Ra-Ve Cultural Foundation, so we can keep welcoming artists like these to Northwest Arkansas.
